We are organising something really special as a District for this year's St George's day. The event will hinge on four themes: Adventure, Beliefs, Community Impact and Youth Shaped. The event will be inclusive of all sections and religions from groups from across the District. As well the opportunity for promise renewal, young people will get to take part in some really exciting activities. Including 3D Printing, Computer Programming, Archery, Climbing, Cavebus, Crafts, Pioneering as well as the chance to meet with some of our A Million Hands partner charities such as Dementia Friends, Guide Dogs, Leonard Cheshire, Water Aid and the Canal and River Trust.

Rendezvous at Halebank Community Centre, Widnes by 10am for a short hike to Halton Stadium accompanied by guide dog owners. At around 12:30 you will commence your afternoon activities. The day will end at 4:40pm at the Halton Stadium. Please park in the car park in Caldwell Road and walk over to the Stadium. To minimise traffic we would appreciate it if people could share transport.

Promise Renewal

All members will be invited to renew their Promise. The promise is an important part of Scouting and encourages our young people to become good citizens.

There are a number of variations of the promise to reflect the range of faiths, beliefs and attitudes; and nationalities within Scouting. Each version is written to be appropriate to the broad level of understanding of each of the age groups within the Movement. We believe that this approach is inclusive. Celebrating and understanding difference, including difference in faiths and beliefs, is an important aspect of the educational and developmental side of Scouting. It is important you take the time to understand the different versions of the promise and consider your choice carefully. For more information about the promise and the different versions check out the Scout Association website,283
