Based on their preferences, Rovers and Rangers will be allocated to a Path. The participants will travel in international mixed crews of 40 to 50 participants. Each Path will be organised by Path leaders and embedded in a specific region and linked to a local guide or scout association or local Rover team.

The Paths will be grouped or themed to a specific Valley. The Valleys will help to diversify the Paths which are on offer. Some will elaborate on culture or heritage; others emphasize outdoor activities or creativity. The Valleys offer possibilities to link the Path programme to Roverway partners and the Educational Objectives. Together with partner contributions, the Paths provide an inspiring and rewarding experience. Envisaged partners are international renowned universities, companies and NGO’s which are active in specialized regional hubs such as:

Energy Valley in the Northern Netherlands, specialized in the energy industry
Food Valley around the university city of Wageningen, specialized in Food and Agrobusiness
International justice and peace around The Hague
Marine ecology Valley in the South West
Innovation Valley in the urban region of Region Eindhoven

Outdoor life will be primary to the Paths but the variety of local associations offers the possibility to look for alternative accommodation. This extra Dutch gift is camping or sleeping on a special location, ideal for contemplation and forging new international friendships. We have on offer:

  • camping on a rooftop
  • camping on a raft
  • camping on the beach
  • camping in a 17th century setting
  • camping in a stronghold
  • camping in Amsterdam
  • camping in an architects dream

Community service

During the Paths, Rovers and Rangers gain an understanding of their role as active citizens in our community. Linked to their role in the Life Action Game, part of the Path will be dedicated to community service.
