The Scouts of the World Award is an award only available to Network members, it involves undertaking a project anywhere in the world which makes the world a better place for those living in it’s community.

The award requires you to undertake a project either as an individual or as a small group. The project must take a minimum of 80 hours to complete and must have a lasting impact on the community who benefits from the project. The project can be completed anywhere in the world, including the United Kingdom.

The Scouts of the World Award is an award that is not just available in the UK, but is also delivered in 50 other countries! Countries participating include: Brazil, Thailand, Uganda and Japan!

Step One

To begin your award you will first have to attend a Scouts of the World Discovery, where you will receive a weekend of training to help you through the award. The award cannot be given to anyone who hasn’t attended a Discovery before undertaking their project.

Step Two

Undertake your 80 hour project, remember to keep a diary of the project and take lots of photos! While you undertake this project you will be supported by a Scouts of the World mentor who will support and advise you regarding any difficulties you have with the project. You will be allocated your mentor within ten days of your Discovery being completed.

Step Three

Deliver a presentation to your peers and your assessors (which will include your ACC Network) on the impact of your project, upon completing your presentation you will be awarded the Scouts of the World Award.

The next Discovery is on the 21 Septmebr - 23 September 2018 in Silverdale, West Lancs
