About this project:

Link up with a Mongolian Scout Network member and become each other's mentor!

Find out what life is like as a young person in Mongolia, share your plans for the future, discuss what challenges you face or simply share language and culture.

Bookbridge have developed this mentoring scheme specifically for Network members to receive training and support to link up with a Scout of a similar age in Mongolia and conduct peer to peer mentoring sessions around a mutually agreed topic.

You would be expected to attend an online training session about peer mentoring and then commit to approximately 10 online mentoring sessions over a 6month period. Who knows where this opportunity might take you; plan an Explorer Belt to Mongolia; create a link with your local Group or go over to the Asia Pacific Jamboree in Mongolia and meet up!

Bookbridge have developed information and guidance for potential mentors and will host an online training for all recruited mentors. Bookbridge will match Network members with a Scout of a similar age who is linked to one of their learning centers in Mongolia and support them to use an online meeting platform to record their sessions and make note of their actions.

Once we have 15 people signed up we'll send out dates for the online peer mentoring training. This will be happening in September 2016. Bookbridge will also be exhibiting at Reunion this year on 3rd and 4th September 2016 so if people are keen we'll organise a meet up there to discuss the project further and speak to people that have been to the learning centres in Mongolia. Any other questions then feel free to email Georgie international@scouts.org.uk
